Building the Ambition is our National Practice Guidance on Early Learning and Childcare. It provides us with guidance on the different stages of child development from babies to toddlers and on to the young child. It helps us to shape our setting ensuring that our children are receiving high quality learning experiences, adults who can nurture and respond to where each child is in their development and the provision of an environment which will allow children to flourish.
Our foyer has a display which shows how we are embedding Building the Ambition into our practice.
Learning at the Early Level – Information for Parents and Carers
Parents and carers have a key role to play in the success of Curriculum for Excellence in terms of ensuring that they support their children’s learning in partnership with staff.
It is important that parents and carers are aware that Curriculum for Excellence is flexible and meaningful, promotes real-life learning and focuses on the needs of every child and young person.
This leaflet includes information on play and active learning, transitions and giving children the best start in life by playing and learning together at home. This leaflet is part of a range of information materials on Curriculum for Excellence available to parents and carers.
